Summary Database
First-Year Database
This is publicly accessible and contains summaries for first-year courses, sorted by professor.
Upper-Year Database
This database is only accessible with the password, which is changed annually. To obtain the password, students must submit an original summary for inclusion in the database using the form below.
Students requiring accommodations may apply to Assistant Dean, Students Mya Rimon for access to the database.
Submitting a Summary
In order to receive the database password, you must submit a summary. Your submitted summary must:
- Not previously have been submitted to the database;
- Be a summary for a course* that is currently active at Osgoode;
- Not contain disrespectful language;
- Must not contain any identifying information, i.e. name, student number, etc.; and
- Have the file name written in the following format: [course name (professor) – year], e.g. Administrative Law (Sossin) – 2016.
In addition, if you are in 3L, your summary must be for an upper-year course or a 1L course for which there is a summary shortage (see the 1L database).
All submitted summaries should be organized and somewhat complete so that they are useful to other students. Each summary should be compiled into a single Word or PDF file. L&L recommends erasing all identifying information from summaries before they are submitted and takes no responsibility for the content or accuracy of any summary housed in its databases.
To submit a summary, email the file directly to our Vice President Internal at summarybank@legalandlit.ca. In your email, make sure to specify the course, professor, and school year from which the summary is from.
